Summer olympics

The Olympic Games are one of the most important sporting events. Thousands of athletes from all over the world participate in the Games. The Olympics are held every four years, with the Summer and Winter Olympics alternating every two years.

The size of the Summer Olympics has increased from 42 events with fewer than 250 athletes from 14 countries (1896) to 339 events with 11,420 athletes from 206 countries (2021).

The biggest Olympic symbol are the Olympic rings, which are interconnected. The five circles represent the five continents united by the Olympic idea, the six colours (including the white base) the colours of all the nations of the world.
